Offender Reentry
The Community Justice Center's Offender Reentry Program seeks to fill
current gaps in services for offenders returning to the St. Johnsbury
community after a period of incarceration or living in the community
under supervision of the Department of Corrections and at risk of
incarceration or re-incarceration.
Services include case management, paralegal assistance, mediation of
disputes and individual and group mentoring. A support group is
available and ongoing, and a reentry employment specialist is co-located
at the Justice Center.
The program rejects the notion that there is a single, one-size-fits-all
approach to reentry. Its goal, through careful assment and intensive case
management, is to get to know and come to understand the needs and
aspirations of the program participants. From the services and resources
available, an individualized program is put together that will be most
successful in helping the program participant.
